Rear harness was bad they replaced with trailer harness and trying to fig out what yellow brown light green an dark green are on frame of truck it hooked in to so i can fix i un hooked not knowing what had...

Your description, I take it, is a problem with the wiring harness going from the driver's compartment to the rear lights. If that is the case, the normal color code for GM is brown for tail lights, dark green for the right stop & turn, yellow for the left stop & turn and light green for the backup lights. Any black wires should be grounded. The white wire in the trailer harness is for a ground when used on a trailer. It sounds like you have the green and yellow T&S wires shorted together somewhere! Some of the later vehicles use separate stop and turn bulbs... these would have a separate wire for the stop lights only, but I don't think your truck is new enough for that. Good luck!

Remove the trim panels in front of the center console. Locate the engine computer attached to a floor-mounted bracket on the transmission tunnel between the console and the firewall.

  • Turn the diagnostic mode selector, located in a round opening on the side of the engine computer, until it stops. Observe the small red and green LED lights on the side of the computer next to the mode selector. They will flash to indicate the modes, with a pause between each mode. One quick flash is mode one, two quick flashes is mode two and so on. When the light flashes indicate mode three, quickly turn the mode selector counterclockwise until it stops. You have entered mode three diagnostics.

The red light flashes to indicate the "Tens" digit of the code and the green light flashes to indicate the "Ones" digit of the code. For example, if the red light flashes two times and the green light flashes seven times, this would indicate code 27.

Turn the ignition key off for two minutes to exit diagnostics. The computer will automatically return to mode one for normal operation...

Audi 1.8T sport Auto (2001) heavy smoke and engine buring smell

The engine could be shot, oil is being burnt off by the actions of being sucked into the bores via worn piston rings then ejected out of the exhaust

If you sent the car in for an MOT and a Service I would ask the garage what they did to it as the car would have failed on its emissions test if that much oil was coming out .

It could have been a fault on the oil pump or lack of oil in the first instance and maybe an overfill on the service

You paid your money now go back for redress

    Trailer Lighting Kit

Do u have a 4,5,6,or 7 way (wire) system? If it's 4 way it allows basic hookup for 3 lighting functions:
GREEN is right turn signal and stop light, YELLOW is left turn signal and stop light, BROWN is license, and side marker lights, WHITE is ground.

5way is same as above, but adds a BLUE wire for brake signal or aux. power. Its used on pop up campers, utility and boat trailers.

6way (rectangle plug) green=right turn signal, yellow=left turn signal, brown=taillight, white=ground, red and blue can be used for brake control or auxilary. Used on small motorcycle trailers, snowmobile trailers, utility trailers.

6way Round Plug, same as above, but blue is electric brakes, and black (sometimes red,) 12v; note:sometimes red/black need to be reversed w/ blue to suit the trailer.

7way adds an additional pin at plug in for 12volt power or back up lights. Whoa! hope that answers your question w/out confusing u. Let me know if u need more info.
