Engine stalling in cold weather the car runs great--when the air temp is about 80 or aboveand the car is in stop and go city driving it will begin to missfire and even stall completely. after cooling it will run well until it heats up. we have recently had 95 degree temp and highway operation continues fine.
i have a '92 buick lesabre that is having similar issues with the heat. after about 20 mins with cruise control and a/c running down the highway i start pulling or jerking in surges of lost power. then eventually if i dont pull over it will stall.
i've done a tune up, air and fuel filters, a fuel pump, and a cam sensor. to no avail, although i have lots of power back.i have a '92 buick lesabre that is having similar issues with the heat. after about 20 mins with cruise control and a/c running down the highway i start pulling or jerking in surges of lost power. then eventually if i dont pull over it will stall.

I would be looking for a vacumn hose leaking. The cold engine needs a rich mixture and braking uses the vacumn booster causing the mixure to lean. A warm engine races with the extra air.
Check coolant temp sensor. These fail often and cause all kinds of mystery problems. This unit acts much like a choke on old carb engines and can fail in different ways. Most common (I think) they fail such that the ECU thinks the engine is cold when it has begun to warm and thus the ECU delivers too long a pulse to the injectors so that the engine runs way too rich. I think it is also possible for the sensor to fail at any point between cold and warm such that the fuel mix is wrong except for the particular temp at which the sensor is stuck. Also O2 sensor has some fuel "trim" input.
it doesent mean the weather it works the same if the engine hasent been rann for awhile its not at operating temp try running it till it reaches normal temp if it does not stall its your cold oxigen sensor
Most likely if it is temperature related you may have a temperature sensor that is failing. The sensor may not be reacting properly to the actual temperature and causing the engine to run rich in warmer weather when a richer setting is not required.
You could have a sticking injector or sticking EGR valve or a faulty TPS switch, all can cause a rich condition and a poor running engine.
Is the service engine light on or come on at some point?
I would start by having the car scanned for trouble codes. You can have the scanned at no cost to you at your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. Write the codes down and respond back.
THERE IS A TEMP SENSIBLE DEVICE IN AIR INTAKE THAT SWITCH FOR TAKE AIR FROM THE EXHAUST AMNIFOLD BECAUSE IS A LITTLE HOTTER. THIS VALVE MUST BE INOPERATIVE
