Hi, I have a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer -- The problem is the Mountaineer is been sitting for 2 years I try to turn it on and it did not turned on-- I spray starting spray and it turn on for split second as long spray inside the air suction section it will come on but then it shut down- my question is what I should do or what I should change?

Three bolt starter? Top bolt is a bear either way. Easiest to use about 2 to 2-1/2' of 3/8" extension and go straight at it from between the radiator and engine. You'll have to play with extensions to get just the right length, but it's do-able.

It's the same flasher unit for both turn signals AND emergency flashers. Even though one side works, the other won't. If you have a good fuse for the turn signals, then replace the flasher unit.

It may be a fuel filter issue, or like the mechanics said, fuel pump. It is a fuel injected model, so that may be the issue also.

sounds like the u-joints in the front axle are bad or were installed incorrectly they only come into play when the wheel is turned. These are the axle ujoints not the driveshaft ujoints

Ever have the fuel pump replaced ? Classic symptom of long crank time ,the check valve in the fuel pump module is bad . Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to check for fuel pressure bleed off . Fuel bleeds back into the tank. Try spraying carb. cleaner into the throttle an see if it starts sooner ! I would imagine you don't have a fuel pressure gauge to test it the correct way .

The metal sleeve on the end of the cable,you turn it sideways and push it thru the hole in the wheel. If it is stuck to the wheel just pick up on the wheel then tap the sleeve with a hammer.
