Drive train noise

2000 grand cherokee laredo 4.7 with 78k miles.
I can hear what I can best explain as a slightly mid to high pitch static type noise at high speeds and it's more noticable on highway especialy when there is a wall of some sort to reflect the noise. It's hard for me to discribe the noise accurately. I have placed it in park and ran the engine at various rpms and never hear the noice. I feel it is in the drive train, perhaps a U-joint? I pray it's not tranny or diff. The right rear diff seal was replaced by an off road shop recently and about a month before that they installed a 2" lift as well.

Thanks
Bryan

Likely pinion bearing or carrier bearings. They howl, characteristically, and the howl changes frequency with speed. Do check the u-joints first, though.

In my 2000 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4 × 4 when driving I hear a roaring sound and a vibration under my feet. But when I shift into neutral it stops. Any suggestions?

wild guess. U-joints bad.? (warning, almost all guesses are wrong)
find someone (a mech) with hands to drive it and ears to hear it
and diagnosis.
grab the drive shaft by hand, (parked LOL)
then man handle it. (think mud wrestling)
can you see the joints flex , in a wrong way?
google that or youtube that, and see right and wrong ways.

Hearing noise from my engine of a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

well either your lucky and you have an exhaust leak (very common on the 4.0 jeep engines) or you have a collapsed lifter, bad wristpin, spun bearing...and other assorted bad mojo.. if it is a 4.0 its very common for them to have exhaust leaks due to the long cast iron manifold. its also common for them to have noisey lifters once they get up there in millage. i have a 2000 jeep and the lifters on it have been making noise for about 40 thousand miles and i havnt had any issues with it. just went to a slightly thicker grade of oil. hope this helps

Motorway whine in my 1997 Jeep grand

The noise you are hearing may be caused by a loose or worn serpentine belt and is slipping during all engine speeds while under load. It could also be a worn serpentine idler pulley that has worn out. These are just two areas for you to consider, but it is hard for me to tell without actually hearing the noise. Take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have someone check these engine components for a possible cause. They won't charge you anything.

2002 grand cherokee laredo humming/grinding

sounds like you have a problem with one of your lines on your power steering or one of its components. the grinding noise could also be one of your pulleys that have gone bad too. check your steering assemby gear box.

High Pitch Noise in 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited

Check your power steering fluid level, and system for leaks. May be a bad p/s pump as well. Hope this helps
