Leave the key in the run position until the security light stops blinking. This should take 10 minutes. Then turn the key off, wait 5 seconds and try to start it. The security light should be blinking again. Leave the key on again for 10 minutes. Repeat this 3 times. After the third time on the the next start it should start and run fine. This will reprogram your theft system.
Sounds like you tripped the immobilizer.
Most times, the ONLY way to get this fixed, is get it towed to dealer, and they will plug their computer in, and reset the security system. You could try disconnecting all the power again, and seeing if it resets itself, if that doesnt work i would recommend taking it to dealer.
Hope this helps!
Also, If you were using a thick, stock key (Black normally), and are trying a spare key now (Just a metal key, with no special key grip) your key will be missing the RFID chip. If you dont know how that works, When you turn your key to start, the cars security system looks for the "Wireless" chip on the key, the chip communicates with the computer with its unique code, the car verifies its the real key, and starts. Last i knew all GM cars made after 2000 had this system.
Try leaving the ignition key in the run position for 10 minutes. The security light will be flashing. When the light stops flashing (either turns off or remains solid). Then reattempt to start (quick relearn)
