2005 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Automatic - Cruise Control Fine Tuning The cruise control is turned on. When going down a hill the cruise control stops acceleration which is normal but then takes to long to start acceleration again to accelerate to the set speed thereby causing the transmission to down shift suddenly to gain the set speed. I have been told that this is normal and that there is no fix for this. Can you inform me as to why this is considered normal? Is there an electronic or mechanical span setting that can be programmed into the computer to lessen the span of the cruise control's set speed? I do like the truck.

Toyota tacoma brake lights not working. 2007 4x4 replaced relay and checked fuses. all 3 inop

Need to check the switch at the pedal. A real easy way to check it is if you have cruise control. Set the cruise and tap the brakes. If the cruise doesn't disengage then the switch is usually the culprit

My 2008 Toyota Prius has begun occassionally surging while going uphill in cruise control. It revs to full throttle then no throttle then back to full throttle then no throttle again. I had a Toyota dealer...

the cruise control limits have been exceeded
the rad speed drops going up hill, the transmission shifts , that exceeds the rpm so it drops back the gear s shift again and the cycle is repeated
nothing really wrong , just incorrect driving practice
good practice is to turn of the cruise control when going up hills that puts the control outside parameters for the operation

2005 chevy trailblazer - no cruise control and brake lights only work when key is turned off

I would check the turn signal switch. The cruise and turn signal are on the same switch. The brake lights go through the switch before going to the brake lights. And the turn signals don't work with the ignition off.

Light has gone out on the console display for compass and temp on the 2006 Toyota Tacoma headliner. Trying to find out which fuse to replace

2005-2009 Toyota Tacoma Overhead Console Fuse test
* does your cruise control work?
* do you brake lights work?
* does your dome light work?
The 10 amp IGI #2 fuse controls several other components including the dome light, cruise control, and
brake lights. If these are working but the compass is dim, intermittent, or dead then the control module
has gone bad.
This is a very common problem with the 05-09 Tacoma. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!

2011 Hyundai Sonota Cruise Control: My new sonota's cruise control does not brake the vehicle when going down a hill. The car begins to increase its speed by over 20 km per hr and would exceed that amount...

I just bought a 2011 Sonata and am experiencing the same problem. Going downhill with cruise set at 55 mph; speed increased to 70 mph and was still accelerating (from the downhilll grade) when I finally pressed on the brake.
This is not normal. My Honda Accord never varied from the cruise setting by more than 3 or 4 mph ... going uphill or downhill.

I want to install cruise control on my 2005 gmc sierra 4x4,whats involed?

Hi,

Most of the time cruise controls are one of the easier accessories to install into a vehicle. Most only take approx 45 minutes to install. Some may take longer. Vehicles with manual transmissions may add another 10 minutes to the job on average. There are usually only six electrical connections and only two mechanical connections to make when installing a cruise control into a gasoline (not diesel) powered vehicle with an automatic transmission as well as mounting the control arm and servo.

Cheers,
Kanu

Stalls at low speed when in cruise control

You sould have recieved a "recall" notice in the mail about the cruise control for fire and failure issues. they are adding a fusable link where the cruise control harness connects to the brake master cylinder. if you have not had the recall performed yet you should SERIOUSLY consider getting it done, mainly so it doesnt catch fire, but "could" be the result of the failure you've been experiancing! btw, almost ALL Ford vehicles have been affected with the cruise control recall. hope this helps!
