My 2004 Hyundai Elantra will go into forward or reverse when just started, but after warming up or driving a few blocks the transmission slips or whatever and the car won't move. Car has100,000 miles and transmission fluid was changed at 55,000. Fluid still looks good. Help!!!

Make sure that you have the proper amount of transmission fluid. If the tran still has issues then it could just be that the gears on the inside of the transmission need to be rebuilt or replaced.

2001 hyundai elantra goes in2 reverse but won't go backwards all other gears r perfect

Most automatic transmissions have a separate belt for reverse and all forward gears, The reverse belt is commonly lighter duty that the forward belt (some Chryslers were affected so much it was advised to not shift into reverse until the engine had warmed up and the automatic choke idled down) Thus your car would be in "reverse" but with no motion getting to the gears.

V70 poured new Dex3 auto trans in. Reverse gear stops working after a few days equal 500km, but all forward are still ok.

Sounds like your transmission is going bad. If your transmission is slipping only in drive or forward gears, then it could be just that it is low on fluid, but when reverse starts to slip it usually means rebuild/replace transmission.

Good luck

No reverse for Hyundai elantra 1999 auto

I've have replaced a few of Elantra's transmissions. I find it common to start with no reverse, usually shortly after it wont drive it at all.
But there still hope. A link between the shifter and the transmission could have popped out. If you have a mechanic you trust, i would have him check that.

2005 Elantra transmission works at first, but after 2 blocks won't move at all - reverse or drive, any gear - engine revs like car is in neutral.

Sorry, but you need a new transmission. Or have the one you have rebuilt. After the transmission heats up it sounds like the clutches in the tranny are slipping. A common symtom of a blown transmission is a burnt smell to the transmission fluid.

My 1998 Hyundai Elantra automatic will not go in reverse and slows down when driving forward...could somebody please tell me what's going on?

If you have not done so already, check the transmission fluid level. If you are low on fluid, there is a chance that adding fluid to the correct level may solve the problem. The fluid level should be checked with the car idling and the shift lever in neutral. There are two sets of Hi/Low marks on the transmission dipstick, one for Cold (car just started) and one for Hot (car running for 20 minutes or more). Use Hyundai recommended SPIII fluid. However, this does seem like a more serious transmission problem. Take the car to a qualified transmission mechanic.
