Where is the fuel rail on a 1998 mazada milleara 2.5

If you have at least 40# of pressure to the rail, spark, compression, and the engine is in time...that only leaves one thing. Fuel injectors. I believe that the signal to fire the injectors comes form the crank sensor to the ECU

Improper fuel/air mixture, possibly plugged up air filter?
You have 2 out of 3 of the needed components for that motor to run, and assuming your timing is correct and you have compression, it could be an air intake issue.

The fuel injector is held in place using rubber o rings in the fuel rail and intake manifold. You need to remove anything in the way to access the fuel rail. There will be 2 bolts securing the rail to the engine and gently pull up on the rail. In most cases the injector will seperate and you can do the replacement. In some cases the injector may be very hard to come out as the rubber seals may have dirt etc keeping them from seperating easily. Apply a light coating of synthetic grease to the new seals and reinstall

check for correct fuel pressure, if pressure is to low, vehical will not run, even if you have fuel in fuel rail

sound like the o rings are worn out on fuel rail when you pull the rail out slightly you are pinching the bad O ring making a seal car is starting. I would replace all O rings check fuel injector seals too, any and all vacuum lines and the seal on the fuel regulator especially if it is connected to the fuel rail.
also check and see if you are moving a wire connections when moving the fuel rail possible loose connection.

Go to your throttle body.

• A large diameter fuel rail is attached to the top of the intake manifold and supplies fuel to all of the injectors.
• A fuel pressure cap is located on the rail for quick pressure checks,
• The electric fuel pump is attached to the fuel sender assembly in the fuel tank. It pumps fuel constantly from the tank, through the fuel rail on to the engine and back to the tank.
• The fuel pressure regulator that is mounted on the fuel rail maintains pressure across the injectors under all operating conditions.

heres a diagram to help you, loosen the bottom bolt a few turns then loosen the top bolt then loosen adjusting bolt to loosen belt, use the adjuster to tighten the new belt then tighten top and bottom bolts, hope this helps,

I don't have one in my shop right now, but I know its on the frame rail under the vehicle

I just cannot remember if its on the right of left rail

it is on the fuel rail on the engine its next to the fuel line conection from tank to fuel rail for injectors
