SOURCE: Hood Won't Open, and Lever Broke
Hi viper852004 , the only way you can do this is to remove the front grills and then you will be able to see the 2 sprung bonnet pegs, you will need to loosen the adjusting nut where it screws into the hood and unscrew it until it becomes unattatched from the hood, do this for both pegs and then you should be able to release the hood to fix the problem. the pegs will need to be reinstalled before driving the car as the hood will not close, hope this is of some help, regards mark.
SOURCE: My hood latch is broken
If the cable link to the latch is rusty or broken you have to take the front grid down. It's relatively easy. It's held there by plastic fasteners. Then reach for the latch with you hand, or the leftover broken cable. Pull it, it should release the first latch, than you just have to get to the security latch, like you usually do to open the hood.

I found a few solutions to your problem here:

A lot of them have some merit, depending on whether you want to actually manually open the hood or use the inovative options posted there. Either way, i hope this helps and best of luck with your problem!
SOURCE: Can't open 94 Suburban hood. Latch is no longer
you can open it with a long thin screwdriver. Look thru the center top of the grill. You should be able to see the cable running to the latch. Follow the cable to the end and you should be able to get in there with the screw driver and fish around to get it to unlatch. After you get it open you can tie a piece of wire to the latch sticking out of the grill to pull on and release it till you can get it repaired. Most likely the cable or pull handle is broken

Try smacking down on the hood with a open hand. You may want to have someone inside to pull the lever while you hit on the hood.If you do get it open spray everthing down with a good lubicant.Well good luck and hope this helped.
