Have you checked on the engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter to start with our check list. Also make sure that the maintenance required as the scheduled list was done . Please also check the oil pressure switch as a faulty switch can give this indication.
Finally a code check might be necessary to confirm

Check oil light stays on

Your vehicle may have an "oil level" sensor built into the oil pan. If so, and the sensor is bad, the dash will constantly tell you that the engine needs more oil even if it does not. Checking the oil with the dipstick, a minute after the engine has been turned off on level ground is always the best way to check your oil. Try scanning the vehicles computer systems to see if there are any fault codes. The warning light may also be on a timer that just needs to be reset. The "Check Oil" light should be separate from the engine oil pressure warning light. As long as the engine oil pressure light stays off, you should be ok. Checking the oil pressure with a manual gauge would be a good idea as well.

I have a 1999 Nissan Altima and my Brake light just came on recently, my question is where do I check for brake fluid? Where is it located at?

the brake fluid reservoir is on the drivers side of the engine back by the firewall. I believe the cap is yellow and should say brake fluid or DOT3 or something simular. Use only DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid from a sealed container.

You can also consult your owners manual to find it.

Engine repair lights

check engine lights are a constant hassle in any vehicle you buy. If you have checked the motor out and all the fluids are topped off, take it over to an Auto Zone and or Checker, and have them test other things such as your starter, alternator, battery. If these are all in good shape and no one can give you any idea, then it's most likely just in the wiring... sometimes the check engine light will throw even when nothing is wrong... if your car is running smoothly... no worries.
