You may, or may not be aware of this, so let me mention it. Fault codes are not part specific, they just reduce the field for trouble shooting. Code 101 sounds like it may recognise a problem with the emission system. I would try the following;
1. Make sure you have a clean air filter. Engines need a proper fuel/air mix ratio, a dirty filter prevents the engine from getting the air it needs.
2. MAF, you already did the mass air flow sensor, but, make certain that all of the hoses and vacuum lines were properly reconnected.
3. Oxygen sensor. If this part is faulty, it will have a number of similar effects as the MAF. You do have 1 in front, ( before the catalytic converter ), and 1 in the back, ( behind the catalytic converter)
I would have both of these checked.
