1997 Subaru Outback Legacy 2.5L. Once the car is warmed up and I've been on the road for about 10 miles, the "ABS" light comes on whenever I get it at 2500 RPM in any gear. Then the "brake" and battery light come on, and it alternates between "ABS", and the "brake" and battery lights. I just had the clutch replaced, and the head gasket, now this. On a side note, when I got the head gasket fixed, the car now idles poorly, almost like it's not firing right.

It is possible when the manifold was re installed the gaskets werent replaced or are leaking, or if the timing belt was put on off one tooth the engine will not run well.

Is a rear diff from a 1997 subaru legacy wagen with a 2.2l inter changeable with a 1997 subaru legacy outback with a 2.5l ?

the only way you can do this is if you can identify the gear ratios from both cars with the transmission codes found on the strut tower plate.
see this list to check for matches, read it carefully its a ton of info

Can you switch a rear diff from a 1997 subaru legacy wagen with a 2.2l inter changeable with a 1997 subaru legacy outback with a 2.5l ?

the biggest draw back that you will have to check first is the ratio of the diffs you want to change. If they are not the same but will fit then you will destroy the 3rd diff in the transmission from excessive use.

How do you replace the spark plug wires on 1997 Subaru outback/legacy?

Access from top is better but you must remove battery/washer reservoir driver's side and intake piping on passenger's side to get to the plugs. If you have bad back, access from underneath is fine but I'd have a ramp instead of jack for safety reasons.

1997 subaru, starter would not engage when hot,

You need to make sure that the grounds for the body and motor are good. Sometimes just turning the bolt will clean them up but better to remove, clean and replace. Also make sure battery terminals and wires are clean and secure. Hope this helps and have a great day.

Electrical issues with a 1997 Subaru Outback

I believe I can help with the clicking. The parking lights should be flashing Also. Whenever power is lost to the system IE the battery removed, The factory anti theft comes on. It is a small 4" x4" box hooked by steering column under dash. It has a red button you push for a few secounds and that should stop the clicking and flashing.
