S-10 Blazer early models had a remote mount on the drivers side of the engine compartment on a 4.3L.

  • I found the easiest way to get to the oil filter is to remove the front drivers side wheel and reach straight through into the engine compartment. You may have to use a lever to move lines up a bit so you can get into it.

'98 Blazer LS (4x4/towing package) has a remote oil filter. It can be accessed through a small door in the front shield. Look just below the bumper, between the recovery hooks.

Hope helps.

Where is the oil filter located?

The engine oil filter is located just right of center if standing in front of the car. By removing the LARGE Black cap with the 36mm nut you will expose the filter element, make sure to do this before draining the oil from the drain plug in the pan. Otherwise the filter will still hold oil until loosened a bit. A typical oil change should go like this.
1. Engine Hot, not running, Loosen filter housing, don't remove yet.
2. Drain Oil, Replace plug.
3. Remove and Replace filter and O-Rings
4. Add oil.

My oil is leaking from right below where the filter screws on

The oil filter sometimes starts leaking from old age, and if its been a while since your last oil change, just have your oil changed. On the other hand, your filter could be loose. Grab a rag in your hand and try and tighten the filter by turning it to the right. If it's loose, tighten it hand tight.

Where is the oil filter on the 2009 Toyota Corolla

I assume that you have a 1.8 engine. The oil filter is in a round metal housing under the engine; you have to remove the housing to access the cartridge type oil filter; the 1.8s do not have a "spin-on" filter.
