Hi, use the white (orange stripe) accessory wire to power the radio. The red (black stripe) wire is the hot lead used to maintain clock and preset stations for the head unit. The complete factory harness color code is below. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

That wiring diagram is wrong....for one my raider has 4 speakers and what appears to be 8 speaker wires 2 for each speaker...also 2 yellow cable 2 red and black, 1 red, 1 white, 1 black, 1 blue and white, it also has 1 gray and blue, 1 gray and orange, and one black and green wire which are very confusing....can someone please post a real diagram of the mitsubishi raider stereo wiring harness...and maybe a match up to the newest stereo hook ups
Sorry for the confusion. There is a premium sound option on this model that has a separate amplifier. With that option, the radio only uses the rear speaker output to supply signals to the amplifier. The radio also uses a databuss to control the factory radio. Your aftermarket radio will not be able to do that. The white/orange and white wires are the data wires, and the accessory power that your aftermarket stereo uses is not available in the factory harness. Also, unless you can find an adapter, the steering wheel controls will not work with an aftermarket radio. There is an adapter available to provide accessory power for an aftermarket stereo, but you will need an additional adapter to make your steering wheel controls functional. The adapter is here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127C2RCHY4/...
Alternatively, you can run a power wire from the accessory buss on the fuse box to power the aftermarket radio's red wire. If you're willing to do this, and you don't have or don't care about steering wheel controls or factory satellite radio, then the installation is much simplified.
With a fused red wire added to the accessory buss of the fuse panel connected to the red wire of the head unit, also connect the red/black wire to the head unit's yellow wire.
The speaker connections are as follows:
Speaker, aftermarket harness, factory harness
RF+, gray, gray
RF-, gray/black, dark green/brown
LF+, white, dark green
LF-, white/black, dark green/brown
RR+, violet, gray/dark blue
RR-, violet/black, gray orange
LR+, green, dark green/dark blue
LR-, green/black, dark green/orange
