I have been working on cars for 40 years, however, I take my car to trhe local oil change shop for any needed transmission oil changes. It is messy and if you don't use the correct fluid or the proper amount you will end up paying a lot more than the cost of a transmission service. The entire transmission system should be flushed which requires the proper equipment. If you pull the trans pan and drain the 3 or 4 quarts of oil from the pan you will still leave several more quarts (5-6) of dirty oil in system. Let the professionals do the transmission service.

Just my opinion.

Hello sloan.... 4 quarts of MOPAR® ATF Plus 3 type 7176 into the dipstick filler tube using a funnel. If this fluid isn't available, use Mopar Dexron III automatic transmission fluid or its equivalent. Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Probably 5 ... warning: do not over fill your automatic transmission. If it is empty because you cleaned the filter and did the adjustments required, put in 3 and check with the dip stick. Then add slowly until you come up on the hatched section of the sip stick. Motor should be running and the trans in Park unless your owners manual tells you otherwise ... oh yea, look for further information on the dip stick as well.

We have an 05 Pacifica Touring. No engine problems yet.(read a previous post, all Pacificas eventually burn oil) However we have a whining sound coming from the rear. go slow(5mph), no sound, as you...

have you looked at the tires- if they are wore down the wear bars-little bands of rubber that cross the grooves in tread will be exposed and the noise is your warning to get new tires soon

I have a 2005 pacifica, it made a pop noise and wouldnt go forward. now it goes forward an not in reverse. i can also hear the gears shifting, could that be the tran. filter? if so where is it located?

may be a trans filter but the pop noise concerns me to but the trans filter is located under the vehicle and you pull the pan down catch all loose fluid 8 quarts or so and then pull filter off then just put new filter in and new gasket rebolt pan to trans and refill with new fluid also clean the magnent off thats in the bottom of the pan

if i helped please give me good rating thank

Is 7 quarts of transmission fluid too much for an 05 ram 5.7 hemi engine?

Is your trans an auto trans? If so, you should have the 45rfe trans which would take 5-7 quarts to refill after a filter change.

Use only Chrysler or Valvoline ATF+4 fluid.

Capacity of fluid for a transmission of a 2006 F150 5.4L Truck. Book says 13.9 quarts I emptied 3-4 quarts.

you must have just drained the pan? There is much more held in the converter. The one I am rebuilding this week is an 05 and doesn't have a drain plug on it (not many do anymore). A flush is the only way to change it all out. 13.9qts sounds like the total amount if the trans was completely empty, converter and all
