Re-check the transmission fluid level. It's possible that the level has "settled" due to the work that you did on it, and may be low now, even though it appeared normal when first topped off.
Just a thought.

Take it back to where you had the work performed. It sounds as though they may have missed something.

I'm not a transmission expert. It seems logical that if it is running worse after service than before, something performed (or not performed) when it was serviced is contributing to the problem. Let them take a closer look. If they pulled a hose loose or something simple like that, they should only be too happy to make it right, at no cost to you. Don't drive it too much until you have them look at it, as you may be damaging the transmission.

Reset transmission

put it in 1st gear, drive it and get up to 50 mph. once you hit 50, take your foot off the gas and let it decelerate at its own pace, no brakes. it should pop out of limp at that point. Also, this needs to be done cold.

Need to fix the slipping on an automatic transmission

change the trany fluid and filter. get some lucas transmission treatment and put it in before you put your trany fluid in. after all fluids are in and everything is together start the vehicle and hold foot on brake and go through the gears it might slip a lil the first 5 min of driving or until fluid works through trany.

Are you sure you use the right type of fluid, and have you let it warm up and checked the level with the engine running?
I would only use the recommended oil suggested by BMW.

Try manually shifting it?
Also, is there any chance you disconnected a wire or hose to the transmission valve body when you had the pan off?
Or any chance you got some dirt inside?

My 1993 Lumina APV (3.8L), has a what I am calling a surge. Between 45 to 60 mph and different times it will surge. I can let my foot of the gas and it may stop or I can give it more gas and it generally...

sounds like the torque converter clutch is slipping in the transmission-next time it starts doing this-instead of letting off on the gas tap the brake with your left foot-if it goes away i would be 98 percent sure that it is the torque converter clutch slipping(internal transmission problems)

My 94 bmw 325I transmission is slipping and not shifting properly. How can I check the fluid level and add fluid if needed? Thanks Vince M

on the drivers side of the transmission under the car is a plug similar to a rear end in the older rear wheel drive cars bmw has
a lifetime tranny fluid setup so take out the plug and fluid should drip out its right behind the shifter cable if it dosent drip out youll need a pump to put it in you can get these at advance auto

My 1994 bmw 325i wont go over 20 mph,.

I would run some engine diagnostic tests to determine if it is an engine problem. Then I would aim to look at the transmission system. This also involves looking into the transmission's computer. You need to take it to a shop that has a scan tool that can scan the transmission control system. A lot of the BMW have advanved logic in the computer and the average shop will not have the tool. You will probably have to take it to a bimmer dealer.

I would first check the back pressure of the exhaust system to make sure the system isn't restricted. If the engine is not misfiring, and you have changed the plugs and fuel filter, I would suspect an exhaust restriction. if the exhaust is ok, I would check the fuel pressure next.

1993 Saturn SL2 will not shift into highway gear

Saturn says and I quote

there transmission fluid is not to be changed after the first change at 6000 miles.

Now I say it should be changed at every 30000 miles. If changing out the fluid doesn't work then you need to go to a transmission repair shop.
