your cv joint is bad. Instead of fixing the cv joint it is actually easier and cheaper to have or replace the entire axle your self. Because it comes with a cv joint and you get a new axle also.

SOURCE: 2001 montero/ rumbling noise in front

There are a few things that this could be, and I see that you have replaced a few of the items that it could be but steering systems are a weird thing so here ya go:

  1. Excessive inner CV joint angle
  2. Sticking inboard joint assembly
  3. Lack of lube at the ball joints
  4. Loose upper strut mount
  5. Worn tie rods
  6. Loose stabilizer bar
  7. Loose suspension bolts
  8. And, believe it or not, a blister or bump on the tire
If you got a Chilton's or Haynes manual to do this job, it states in there how much grease should be packed into the bearings. Also, making sure of the length of your CV axle.

Post more info you would like, to pass on.

SOURCE: i have an 03 nissan altima engine makes loud clicking noise

1st check the the oil level and the vehicle's oil type.(owners manuel) 5w30-10w30
10w 30 is a thicker oil and could possibly be causing this.(Moves more freely through the engine heats the oil)

SOURCE: 2002 Altima engine won't start, but key does turn in the ignition

Is there a clicking sound? The first thing that I would check is to make sure that the starter motor is getting voltage. If it is getting voltage then I would say that the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. If it is not getting voltage then it could be a bad fuse, relay, or a bad ground. All of these are probabilities. The last thing that I would check for is a bad ignition switch especially since the accessories come on.

1996 bmw z3 automatiuc transmission. It feels like my drivwe shaft is rumbling where it meets my diferential. Only when I accelerate quickly from a stop.

the rear universal is probably gone bad at rear of drive shaft. does it clunk when shifting from park into drive, get under vehicle, when it is turned off. you can leave it in park. grab drive shaft and see if you can wiggle it. if so its the universal joint on drive shaft.put on e-brake before getting under it. if it is bad, its best to change both front and back universals. Good-day!

sounds like the belt needs tightening or replacing so yes you are indeed correct about the squeal, as for the rumble depends on how bad the rumble is but it shouldnt be caused by either you mentioned.

I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier. When accelerating and turning to the left and accelerating from a stop it produces a rumbling noise. I have also put it into gear, put the brakes and pressed the accelerator...

When turning, it produces a torque load on the rotation of the engine. The turning and this noise is heard, and can be duplicated while sitting still, sounds to be from an engine mount, or transmission mount that has or is failing. If more info is needed, please leave me more info. Craig

I had the same problem, you can replace both the acc band and the band tensor, the vibration comes from a loose band.

Rumbling in front tires

You probably have a bad wheel bearing or bad tire on left front. when making right turn left front wheel wil spin faster than right making noise louder.
