I have recently purchased a Snowman Snow Plow for my 2010 Ford F150 FX4 Supercrew This is a pull plow that mounts to the Tow hitch receiver. To operate there is a harness that is run from the back of the truck up the body to the battery area. There a solinoide that I attach and wire to the battery and harness. The control harness is run through the firewall to the driver cab for the control unit. There is a quick connect for the control unit, but there is a seperate wire that comes from the control unit that has a 30 amp cylinder fuse that sits in a yellow pill shaped holder. The other end of the wire needs to be plugged into a fuse source that only operates when the ignition is on.So I opened up every box and am looking everywhere for where to connect this little wire to complete my install can anyone point me in the right place. Is it by the driver pedals, under the driver seat, under the hood, in the passenger fuse compartment, or in the power distribution area under the hood. Can anyone help me.Thanks Tim

SOURCE: not sure how to hook up plow motor to battery? Its

The heavy + should be connected to the battery through the solenoid for the motor. There should be wires to control the solenoid (an electric switch, you know). The - goes to the truck's frame at a place of your choice. The ground must be solid, you know that, right?

I think if I were doing this install, I would hook the plow ground with the battery ground on the fame or where ever it is located.

The plow control should be mounted for your convenience inside the cab.

Lets review: Plow motor | ground to ground, hot to solenoid (motor side) | solenoid (battery side) to battery | solenoid control wires to cab.

While driving down road my western snow plow is rocking all over.

not good or safe! check all mounting pins and frame mounts. A lot of force is on snow plows and the frame mounts often need to be welded up. I imagine it is the whole unit and not just the plow.

I think you have a problem with the plow motor grounding out. when you raise or turn plow in either direction you have to run the plow motor which is grounded out. ( as in hooking the ground and positive together directly ) the plow is on a gravity drop when you let it down by the weight itself and does not require the motor for the plow to operate. It's your plow motor or the positive feed to selonoids.

I want to instal a Reese hitch on my 2000 ford f150 4x4 pickup to tow a popup camper that weights 1550 lbs what hitch should I purchase and what would the toung drop measurement be?

in my opinion ,why not install the biggest one so that you can tow anything in the future because the price difference in buying and installing is verry little. as far as the toung drop after your hitch is mounted on truck just measure camper heigth in comparisom to hitch receiver on truck and buy the correct one
