Make sure the transmission fluid is at the right level and is the right type. Transmissions use the fluid to engage various mechanisms and sometimes low transmission fluid will only effect one gear at first. Also it could the shifting lever adjustment. Make sure all the gears engage as they are supposed to - if they don't work right either, you need to get it adjusted.

check the pump it is located on the bottom part of washer tank

toyota dont have a problem with transmission systems,but you can buy a flush for the transmission,first check for broken pipes/and breather gause.adrian

CHECK ENGINE ON. SOMETIMES THE EXHAUST FUMES SMELL BAD. TECHNICIAN RECOMMEDED TO REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. PLEASE ADVISE.
