IPhones can only connect to other iPhones via bluetooth. And, the functionality is very limited too. You can only send pictures and videos to the other person via bluetooth.

Well if it is in discoverable mode then it should find your device. Well what you should do restart both of your devices your iPhone 3G and your Mac laptop that should resolve your problem.

Hi tapper24,
unfortunatly the iphone can only provide mono audio for bluetooth headsets. This is currently the limitation of the iphones bluetooth capabilities.
I hope i helped you with an answer. Sorry i couldn't do more to help, but there is no current way around these hardware restrictions.
