( I only entered Concord as my Model because there is no Hornet / Gremlin option) I need a Borg - Warner T-35 automatic for the AMC 1970 (or 1971) Hornet (or Gremlin) 232. My question is which (if any) of the following are compatiable for AMC 232, 1970 - 1971? Rambler, Jeep, Postal Jeep, Ford Courier / Mazda B series / Mazda Rotary, and/orChevy / Isuzu Luv truck. Also what is a B-W M-35? And if all luck fails to get an automatic for 1970 - 1971, AMC 232, is there a way to change my car into a Stick shift? I see alot of manual transmission with clutch for sale. One last question, if any of the above are compatiable, are the flywheel / drive shaft connections, etc. the same?

Now not quite sure here and i assume your in america for this borg warner unit as they were extensively used on cars like the old rover which was then called british leyland so it would appear across the range on rover ,austin ,triumph also the old jaguars as well ,but i think you would have to change the bell housings ,These gearboxes were not difficult to repair for things like clutch linings and brake bands as any reconditioning shop for brakes and clutches should be be able to cut some ferodo material and fit for you but the rest of it ?? i wouldnt know if any parts are still available .Now as for converting it to a manual then this isnt a problem providing you get the flywheel with the gearbox and all the gearchange linkage and if possible the prop as well as it could be a different length but again any decent engineering shop could extend or shorten this for you providing you have the right end of the prop that fits into the gearbox .As for knowing exactly what is what i wouldnt know because being a europeon mechanic i have never seen this vehicle that you own.

How can I install an AMC 360 engine into my 1965 rambler classic with a 287 engine?

what I did was removed the 287 engine installed an AMC 360 .In order to do this you have to get an borg warner m11 bell housing from 67 to 71 .amc used borg warner transmissions until than. So you put the m11 bell housing on to the m8 transmission and get the motor mount for the AMC 360 engine

I would like to know if I can install an borg warner m8 tail section onto an borg warner m12 transmission that way I would not have to change from the torque tube subsention

I just found out that all that you have to do is . You have three options to go with one change the bellhousing from a borg warner m12 transmission. two use and borg warner m12 transmission but use the yoke head from the m8 onto the yoke of the m12 yoke .Three use a chryler/amc tf727 torque command transmission.Use the yoke from the m8 weld the head on to the spline of the 727transmission weld the m8 tail section onto eather transmission and that way you can keep the torque tube suspension on your classic 770 with the 287.Your rear end should be an AMC 20 to stand the torque from the AMC 360 engine with about 350 hp .last but at lease get the trany mounts.

What model of transmission does a 1995 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 L engine have?

Most common automatic is an AW4...its pretty much based on the old Borg Warner unit (If I remember correctly AW is asian warner or something close to that.)
If it's stick, It could be one of a few but can be ID'd by the vin# or the tag on the unit itself.
