Question about 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD
This is a very common problem on all chevy trucks for this year. The door lock solenoids are integrated into the door latch assembly, and are notoriously weak. They will work fine sometimes, others they just seem to barely move or not at all. You will need to replaced the door lock / latch assembly for the affected door.

I experienced the same problem with my 2008 Silverado. Driver door lock stopped working so I replaced the actuator myself to save the $95 per hour labor charge from the dealer. I've also had to replace the power mirror switch on the drivers side. Now my power mirrors are failing, one power window is failing, and I've already had both front door speakers fail. I've had the door panels off so much I can do it in my sleep! GM put the cheapest electronic components they could find in these trucks. They last until the warranty expires.

I agree. My 2008 Silverado is not half the truck my 2006 was. Thanks for the info. I am going to have to change both of my front door parts.

we have a 08 1500 crewcab chevy that all the power door locks worked excepted the drivers door. We started to look at that door power lock actuater and now the passenger power door lock does not work. Could the trouble be something other than actuaters?
