Suggestions for sealing carburetor warming line gasket better? The car has a leak at the main connection from the carburetor heating line to the radiator. Have made multiple repairs in piecing this engine back together and this is the latest in tracking down its leaks. Have replaced the gasket and bolts to the carburetor heating line but still leaks from gasket area. Originally was leaking from the bolt, so replaced them both. I've applied Permatex Gasket sealer, but still no luck. Any suggestions will be helpful.

If the bolts were not tightened evenly in an X pattern, you could have a hairline crack in the flange. JB weld works good in applications like this if applied neatly.

SOURCE: Kia Sorento 2004 Radiator leak

I have no idea where Fixitman909 got his info, but it takes 2.2hours to do that job; not 1 hour as he stated.
And they dont make or sell rebuild radiators.

Get a new one at the parts store with a lifetime warranty...it should cost you around $200-$250

SOURCE: Changed water pump on 91

Yes some threads are tapped into water jackets, you can easily tell this by the condition of the threads on the pump bolts removed. Are you sure it's leaking at the pump and not around a thread boss itself? If you couldn't find a gasket, you could of made one, which i would of done---this engine has a cast iron block with alumn. cylinder heads. What kind of permatex did you use? If you use ONLY silicone and over-tighten---poof--it's gone, nothing there.

Losing prime to carb after warm up

Check the fuel pump pressure. IF this is heat related, it could also be a bad gasket causing a vacuum leak. The other thing could be the fuel line is getting too hot causing the gasoline to create a vapor lock.

Oil leak on driveway coming from front of engine

Dear Sir,
Here is the oil leaking Problem Identifying Technique

Engine oil leaks from the valve cover gasket are common.

  • The intake manifold plenum gasket may leak and cause increased oil consumption/burning and a spark knock during acceleration; the gasket should be replaced.
  • External oil leaks from valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets (front or rear), and the rear crankshaft (rear main) seal area are common. The rear main seal is an unlikely source. Normally, the bearing cap mating surfaces (as well as the sealing surface between the oil pan and bearing cap) are the source for the leaks.
  • Engine oil leaks at the distributor can be misdiagnosed as leaks from theintake manifold seal, oil pan gasket, or rear crankshaft (rear main) seal. A revised distributor is available if oil is found inside the distributor.
  • If the oil filter casing shows signs of distortion from excessive oil pressure, theoil pump should be replaced.
  • Often misdiagnosed as a leaking oil filter gasket, the oil filter adapter can seep from between the adapter and engine block.
  • Carbon buildup on the top of the piston is common. As the buildup increases with mileage and over time, symptoms may vary from light ticking, to ticking/hammering, to hammering/knocking noises. Fuel injector cleaner often solves the problem.

Oil leaking from toyota camry 1992, 1994 model

You don't say what engine it has. The 4-cyl was a better than the V6 for oil leaks.

The V6 had oil leaks from

    -rear bank cam cover gasket

    -distributor o-ring seal

    -oil filter bracket o-ring seal

-crankshaft nose oil seal (less common)

-rear main bearing oil seal (expensive, just leave it)

The 4 cyl leaked oil from

    -distributor o-ring seal

    -camshaft cover gasket

-rear main bearing seal (expensive, leave it)

I have a 2006 Isuzu NPR that is leaking oil. I called husky trucks and they said to look online to find out how to fix the referential seal leak. I could not find any how tos to fix this probelm. ...

It is a bit new to have a serious oil problem.
Never heard of a "referential" seal. I am familiar with rear main seal and differential seal.
But first you need to find the leak.
The thing to do is steam clean the engine so that you can see better.
(avoid heat or water around alternator, starter, ignition, etc)
    Then put cardboard under it.

Also a bad PCV can cause excess crankcase pressure that forces oil out.
Top valve cover gasket is very common.
Rear main seal will come out from bell housing bottom.
You might also want to consider thicker oil, like Castrol 20W-50.
Oil pressure sending units also often leak.
Filter could be not sealing right, due to things like left over seal, etc.

After the engine is warm my 1994 jeep cheroke leaks oil.

It's getting old--various gaskets could cause the leak--usually valve pan gasket (maybe at the back of it near firewall where you can't see) or main engine seal (engine must come out), or a camshaft seal.
