Hi there,
I don't think this would be a "technical" problem with my car, but I'm trying to figure out if my car is built in such a way that it is at all possible for a little "critter" to have gotten into my vents somehow and died there. I know this sounds crazy, but since we got back from the cottage, there has been this horrible smell coming from the vents everytime I turn that or the A/C on. Every day it gets worse and now today it's unbearable. We kind of compared the smell to that of a wet dead dog. My dad was looking at the car to see if he could find any spots where it may be possible that something has gotten in there. Please help. I really need to fix this problem. I love my car and the last thing I want is to go back to the dealership and tell them I won't drive my car anymore cause of the smell.
Hopefully I'm not the only person this may have happened too and that there will be answers.
Thanks and look forward to getting some answers!
Nathalie
HI;; Nathalie.
I don't know what kind of car you have.
But the smell on your car only can be 2 things.
1===The A/C evaporator inside of the instrument panel is leaking FREON. .
2=== The HEATER Core inside of the instrument panel is leaking ANTIFREEZE.
Check if the car is lossing Antifreeze.
Check If the A/C is cooling good.
But the best way is take the car to any Automotive Repair shop.
Because that smell is BAD to your Health.
I hope this information can be useful to you.
THank you for use fixya.
