2005 Chrysler Pacifica transmission won't engage. Like it is stuck in neutral. Shifter shifts and even back up lights come on when in reverse but won't go.

Check the shift cable where it attaches to the transmission. While moving the shifter, watch to see if the transmission is moving. If not, then check the connection on the shifter lever.

05 Chrysler pacifica is a 4 speed automatic, next time buy a car with a 5 speed automatic

When you "muscled it into neural" you broke the shifter. Most likely it will take a replacement shifter to repair.

could be a selector failure. easiest to check first or internall drama with torqu converter ,one way clutch or other. these will require r@r n overhaul

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities.

The shift linkage is not adjusted properly and they may have forgotten to tighten the linkage after installing the transmission. Any mechanic could check this for you, or someone could possibly shift the transmission into gear at the transmission so that you could drive it back to the shop and let them fix it.

This car has several points on the transmission that look similar to the drain plug. If they removed the plug on the driver's side rear of the transmission, then they dropped a linkage from the transmission drive train and it is now sitting on top of the valve body instead of falling into place when you attempt to reverse. Have it checked by a certified transmission shop to verify this is the problem, then I would strongly advise you to make the lube shop pay for the repairs if it is. Hope this helps, good luck!

all pacificas are auto and have a slap stick this might be due to have the spring that attacthes to the transmission it could be that the shifter might have to be replaced or adjusted or your transmission might be shot.

its your transmission shifter assembly it cost 65$ for the part from dealership and 100$ dollars in labor i just had it done to mine
