The blower motor on my 2000 chevy tracker is broken. i'm told that it's fairly easy to replace without taking it to a garage. just wondering where i can get the motor and how i go about taking out the old motor and putting the new one in. as you can probably tell, i'm not too educated when it comes to cars. i'm a poor college student who doesn't want to spend unnecessary amounts of money at a shop, lol.

You can purchase a new motor at your local auto part store (Pep Boys, Autozone, Oreilly's, Napa...ect) There is usually just 4 small bolts that hold the motor into the air box housing and one electrical connector. You should be able to locate your motor under the dash on the passenger side.

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

SOURCE: I need a serpentine belt/routing diagram 2000 chevy tracker.

For the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker:

Most modern vehicles have the Belt Routing Diagrams on the undeside of the Hood. But the sometimes disappear.

I do not know if you have the 1.6L In-Line 4-Cylinder, or the 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder. Nor what Engine Options you have (AC/No AC, etc.).

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!

2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?

The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.

HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4).

Blower wheel fan

The Blower wheel fan ....where is your question.....?..Yes it can be changed without replacing motor...Very delicate ..be careful while changing it...If fan isn't running it could be a Relay,Resistor,Or faulty motor....Also faulty fan control panel....I don't recommend trying to replace the fan alone..If fan is damaged it can also cause abnormal wear to motor....replace the complete fan/motor assembly...

I need to know where the motor blower is on a1999 Chevy tracker.i know it's down under the glove conpartment but don't see where to get to it

not sure of the tracker exactly, but every car I've ever delt with has the blower on the firewall on the passenger side. the heater core is behind the glove box. it's usually pretty easy to chage the blower, but make sure you check the fuses 1st. also test the wires to make sure it's getting power. may save some time and headaches.

Removing the glove compartment & replacing the blower resister.

You do not need to remove the glove box to get to the resistor its located at the very bottom of the dash. Its held in by 1 or 2 screws. If you already bought the replacement look for the same thing underneath, a flashlight helps. Fairly simple, just have some patience. Its close the the blower motor.
