An electrical switch located on the upper side of the brake pedal arm. It has voltage going to it, and when you depress the brake pedal, the switch closes and let the voltage go to the brake lights. (These switches are adjustable)

BRAKE SWITCH IS A SWITCH MOUNTED IN A BRACKET UNDER DASH ON DRIVER.THE BRAKE SWITCH PLUNGER REST AGAINST BRAKE PEDAL ARM TO TURN OFF REAR BRAKE LIGHTS. WHEN YOU PRESS BRAKE PEDAL.THE PEDAL ARM MOVES AWAY FROM BRAKE SWITCH PLUNGER TURNING ON REAR BRAKE LIGHTS.

If your steering wheel vibrates when you press the brakes, your brakes rotors are warped. Have them cut smooth or replaced.

Could be simple as a fuse or the globes, also try checking to ensure that you haven't dislodged the connecting plug in the back underneath the rear light connector. Good luck

When i press he brake pedal the brake lights do
the switch behind the brake lever is probably pushed out of the way...have a look underneath the footwell and push the brakes with your hand...watch the lever for a small switch and see if it is being pressed by the brake lever or not.
