Sounds like you cooked a fuseable link. Thats a wire with a fuse material inside that goes from the starter to the fuse box.
Could also be a problem with the key switch, but the headlight switch gets power directly from the battery.
A relay in that fuse box is sticking closed. Next time take the cover of the fuse box off and by the label inside it, try to identify the headlight relay. Tap that one or each relay in turn to identify the faulty one.
If you have a user manual for your car look inside of it it should tell you where the fuse is that controls your headlights... if you don't have one look on the inside of the cover of the fuse panel box you will find a diagram on it showing headlight fuse or
fuses.. I hope this helps you
check all the fuses in your fuse relay box in your engine bay for a blown fuse also check inside the car sometimes theres another fuse box stashed there.
okay, look under the hood in the engine compartment and in that fusebox you will check fuse number f1-24. this is not like the older cars where it says park lights the newer cars and trucks are more confusing as the park lights run through modules so a fuse for another component can cause lights not to work but this is the fuse for the parklights if this doesnt do it then i would test all fuses in that box and then check fuses in the inside fuse box located on the leftside of the dash, as far as the headlights there are a few fuses that control the headlights one for each light and then one for the main switch these fuses are located inside the cab leftside of the dash fuses are f2-3, f2-10 , f2-25 , f2-31 check these for the headlights, here are some diagrams to help locate fuses.good luck and have a good day,
There is a Relay for the Headlights and Fuses also. Check under the Hood in the Fuse Relay Box and the Fuse Panel on the Inside. They should be Marked as HL or RHL and LHL. Also just check Really Close for Blown Fuses. Let me know if you need any Further Help. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help I can get! Thanks!
hi from uk for info the dip beams have a seperate fuse in fuse box for each side offside and nearside so if bulb is ok ? check fuses if you have h/book ? it will give location and amperage of fuse required also the same goes for the side/tail licence plate lights are on seperate fuses so you do not lose all lights if fuse goes
