1996 chevy 3500 4x4 will stall at times. When it stalls sometime it will start back up and other times it will not. I have replaced, the fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel relay, spark plugs and the computer. Just got it back yesterday from the shop after replacing the computer and the truck ran fine. Today I was driving it and got maybe a mile from home and it stalled and would not start again. After towing it home and letting it sit a couple of hours it started again. I don't know what else could be wrong and I don't want to put alot of money into it trying to figure it out.

SOURCE: fule pump

I bet you frequently run the truck very low on fuel if so you killed the fuel pump when you replace this pump its a good idea to use only a genuine AC DELCO FACTORY pump because the vortec engine needs a MININUM of 60 PSI fuel pressure to start

SOURCE: cannot get 1987 chevy van 20 to keep running... stalls out

Best do a fuel pressure test. Should have chg. fuel filter from the get go. The only other filter is on the end of the fuel pump in tank. Bad gas and dirty gas will plug up fuel filter, hense burn pump up.

SOURCE: truck stalls when I give it gas

It sounds like they have got the distributor out of time. You will need to adjust the distributor. That is what it sounds like.

While driving my 1996 chevy blazer stalls out, repeatedly, what would cause this to happen

If this only happens when you let off the gas pedal when slowing down clean the throttle plate in thew throttle body. That should at least help with the problem if not solve it.

92 SL1 Intermitant stalling problem

Fuel pump,Fuel pump, Fuel pump,,, high mile cars will always out live their fuel pump. The stalls will become more frequent. But first change fuel filter if it has one outside the fuel tank, if it has it in the tank just replace the pump at the same time. Also next time when it stalls bang the bottom of the tank with your hand and try starting.
