My windshield wipers does not work on my 1990 Nissan Truck. When I turn them on it sounds like the motor is working but the wipers do not move. The washer does not spray either. I checked the fuse and it looks good

More than likely the wiper transmission has come off the motor drive shaft, pull the motor and check this.

Under the wiper arms you will find a wiper transmission that consists of a series of linkages that attach the wiper arms to the motor. This is where you will find your problem. Remove the wiper arms and the panel under them for inspection.

sounds like a loose nut. there are nuts that hold the wiper arms on, they may be under a cover but theyre at the base of the wiper arm. also there's a nut that holds the wiper linkage onto the wiper motor. if you can move the wipers independently, it's the nuts connecting the wiper arms.if you move one arm and the other moves with it, it's the nut holding the linkage to the motor.

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board.It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

at the base of the wiper arms pop the caps off turn on the wipers see if the safts are moving if they are tighten the nuts a little if that doesn't work you will have to replace the wiper arms i had the same ting happen on all three of my fords truck van and taurus

They might well be!
Check under the hood / bonnet at the linkage connections.
Occasionally, the bolt / fixing can work free, allowing the motor to work as normal.
This does not transfer the motion to the wiper arms and you get the motor noise but no movement.
Depending on the car, it could be easy - or very difficult to access the linkages.
