what about the fuel pressure ???

  • Anonymous Jan 23, 2011

will try to assist you but your posting was cut short for some reason. i got that it will crank over and over before it starts. and something about your fuel pressure. ok. your fuel filter may need replacement, but in meantime try this: try turning your key switch to the'on' position three times for 10seconds at a time before you attempt to start your engine. if the fuel pumps weak, this will allow your engine to'prime' with fuel before you start your engine. it really sounds like your fuel filters going bad,or stopping up,or the fuel pumps weak,or your fuel pressure regulators not working properly.is your check engine kight on? your local autozone or advance auto parts store can check it for free,as long as your check engine light is on. thank you for choosing fixya.com let me know if i have assisted you please.

I just had my coil pack replaced. .. .i had a misfire in #8 then random misfires. .. i changed the #6/8 and it didnt make a bit of difference. ..

before that i thought i had a fuel leak or a leak in the air intake.
if i was stopped at a light, the rpm would move up and down slightly. . the car would act as if it wanted to leap forward. and sometimes it would just cut off at a light so i would keep it in neutral . . .at one point. it would take me 4 or 5 tries to start it up. . i changed the fuel pressure regulator then it worked ok for a minute then back to the same. ..

anyway turned out to be the whole coil pack that needed replacing

We have a 2001 oldsmobile aurora that will tuen over and lights come on but it will not start?

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? I don't know what testing you have done? I can only help with testing.

Oldsmobile Aurora Problems

Crank position sensor should be in the area of the crank pully the largest pully on the front of the motor held in by one 10mm bolt The fuel tank pressure sensor can be bought separate but usually comes with a new fuel pump so the sensor is on top of the fuel pump exterior of the tank

96 Oldsmobile Aurora wont start!!!!

see if fuel pump is working...see if gas going . Save time take it to dealer and get them to dianose, may be lot cheaper than swapping out a lot of parts on hit and miss.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora will start sometimes and other times it won't, I replaced the starter and still the same.

If the engine cranks but won't start, the battery and starter are out of the picture.
When it won't start, someone will need to check fuel pressure and for spark at the plugs to proceed.

Our 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora is difficult to start. Long cranking time. once started, idle fluctuates. Also dies sometimes when driving.

Scan for any codes that might be present, then work to clear all of those. Next, look at fuel mixture, O2 sensor readings, and air flow. Any and all of these are likely to need work. Then look at the intake plenum gasket, spark plugs, fuel pressure, etc.

I have a 1996 Olds Aurora...it turns over, but takes longer then normal to start. It's like it doesn't catch right away. If it was the starter or starter relay connecters then it wouldn't turn over at all....

maybe the fuel pressure regulator bleeding down while parked. Take a fuel pressure tester and hook it up, cycle key to gain optimal fuel pressure, turn key off and monitor fuel pressure. It should hold at around 20 psi.
