A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back
Symptoms may include:

  • the engine may be harder to start
  • the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
  • other symptoms may also be present

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders ( spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open

P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plugs or wires
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector(s)
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
* Faulty camshaft position sensor
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions: If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs).

The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Hope this helps.

Have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L v6. Added a fuel injector cleaner with a new tank of gas and now experiencing rough idling and getting error codes P0300, P0301, P0303, & P0305. What's going on?

P0300 is Random Misfire. 01, 03 and 05 narrows it down to those cylinders.

Clean throttle body and MAF, you may have carbon flaking off and fouling plugs. You could try taking it for a good thrash down the highway for an hour.

What are these error codes p118,p0440,p0101,p0300,p4401

118, replace the coolant sensor. 440 is a small leak for EVAP. Could be as simple as replace the gas cap. 101 could be the MAF sensor or wiring to it. 300 is random misfire, needs to be on a scanner, Could be related to MAF sensor. 4401 is not a valid engine code.

What is error codes P0306 and P0300?How do i get it fixed?

The P0300 indicates a random misfire, if the last digit is showing a number other than a zero then that should correspond to the cylinder that is misfiring. Also as Ed stated it could also possibly be your egr valve.

Error code P0300

code po300 refers to random/multiple cylinder/s--misfire/s detected.===causes-- spark plug/s--HT leads /s--injector /s--ignition coil/s--low compression ---wiring
Check that the HT leads are not touching each other causing spark cross over . Ensure that the coil wires are properly connected . From what you have done, I would revisit everything ( all connections ) to ensure that everything is in order including firing order of the leads

1999.cadillac code po300

The link below will take you to a page that will describe all the possibilities for your code. Unfortunately, P0300 is a generic code indicating a misfire but without a cylinder number (typical codes would be P0302 with 2 indicating the cylinder number causing the fault) you can't rule out any of the cylinders or causes so diagnosing the problem is basically trial and error.

Car wont accelerate properly, it hesitates between 2200 and 3000 rpm. I have a p0300 and p0131 error codes.

Code P0131 is your Oxygen sensor that needs to be replaced. This could cause the other code which is P0300-Random Multiple Misfire although this is usually caused by one of two other sensors. Try replacing the Oxygen sensor first and reset the computer and see if you still get the P0300 code afterward. If you do then you will have to have the Crank Position sensor and the Cam Position sensor tested. Now, being a 1995 the P0300 code could be caused by the timing belt if it is worn and about to go out but you need to address the O2 Sensor issue first then see if the other code comes up again as it is common in that year for the O2 Sensor to fault and have a second or third code thrown at the same time that is essentially a ghost code as nothing is wrong in that area.
