Are there 2 knock sensors on an 2004 nissan xterra 2 wd. V6 n were are they located

I have looked everywhere and also went to my 2 of my parts suppliers and there is only one knock sensor for your vehicle. Below are pictures right out of my Nissan Factory Service Manual and it does only list 1 knock sensor. If you have any questions or need any testing procedures feel free to email me at [email protected]. and I will send what I have.

Have you changed all the plugs to platinum and wires? My xterra was doing that and I changed all of them and now it runs great. Also, I changed the distribitor cap and rotor button.

2000 Nissan Xterra Service Engine soon indicator is always on

The knock sensor is not a huge deal to replace and will not turn on the light. It should be dont though.

The crankshaft sensor is located directly between the engine and transmission. It is dead center at the bottom.

Nissan xterra knock sensor

It's the valley of the engine underneath the intake manifold. It's about an $800 job because the top of the engine has to come off. However, unless you have a supercharged xterra it shouldn't effect performance. Also, the knock sensor will not trip the check engine light, as it does not indicate a primary problem, so if your light is on you should have another code that should be fixed first.

Knock sensor

You have to take the entire intake manifold off upper and lower. you will find it on the main block after you take the lower manifold off.
