I assume you wish to clear it. Do this procedure. First turn the ignition key to on but do not start the car. Next depress the accelerator right to the floor three times in a row. Turn the key off & back on again. The light should be out. Hope this is what you wanted. Good luck!

Two ways gm uses to reset the light, If you turn the key to accessory and push gas pedal to the floor three full times and hold the pedal down on the third, wait for oil light to blink and go out then turn key back off then turn on car and see if the oil light goes out. The other way is to go thru the radio to reset oil light. try the first way if it doesn`t work send message back and i will type the other procedure out for you in detail.

That light should reset itself after you changed the oil .If you have changed the oil and it doesn't reset ,try disconnecting the batter for about 5 mins. check your milage, see how many miles you normally drive before that light normally comes on. That is so, if that light dosen't come on ,you will know its time to change the oil. If that light doesn't come on at the right amount of miles,have your oil changed at the dealer and ask them to check the oil change warning light .If they find nothing wrong ,no charge . This warning light is fairly new ,in the old days people just guessed ,its about time to change the oil !

 1. CHANGE OIL SOON light will come on when engine oil has broken down enough to require changing. After changing oil, reset oil life display.

FIRST press and release the setup button to display oil life= xxx
then press and hold the reset button for about 2 sec it should then display oil life set to 100%

You need to put the key on and push the gas pedal to the floor three times within five second to reset the oil life light.Some g.m.'s have a reset buttom in the fuse panel that needs to be pushed first and some don't.Check the owners manual under change oil for your specific year car.

Oil Change Reset
 A press of the OIL CHANGE RESET switch will allow you to
reset the oil life feature to 100% (or your Personalized Oil Reset
Percentage). After you have the oil changed, you must execute
the following procedure. Press the OIL CHANGE RESET switch
and hold for five seconds as the M/C counts down for five
seconds. After a successful reset the Message Center will display
“OIL LIFE RESET TO 100%.” If you have established a
Personalized Oil Reset Percentage, the display will show that
percentage instead of 100%. To ensure accurate oil life
indicators, perform this reset procedure only after an oil change.
Your Personalized Oil Reset Percentage allows you to establish a
smaller oil change interval than the manufacturer’s
recommended interval. To establish your Personalized Oil Reset
Percentage perform the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the OIL CHANGE RESET switch and press
the RESET switch while the display is still counting down
the 5 seconds to reset. The display will change to “START
OIL LIFE AT XXX%.”
2. Press the OIL CHANGE RESET switch until the displayed
percentage is the Personalized Oil Reset Percentage that you
desire. Your choices are 100%, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50%,
40% and 30%.
