All great advice. It could be an ignition modulator or smog related shut off valve is doing it.
Either your battery is not being charged sufficiently by the alternator or you have a "parasitic drain" on the battery. If the alternator belt is at proper tension and a charging test indicates that it is working, then you'll have to look for that parasitic drain which your battery sees as a light being left on all the time. Aftermarket car alarms, stereo systems, and charging electronic devices through the cigarette lighter or power port sockets are pretty common ways to drain down the battery. Google "how to find parasitic battery drain" for a step by step process.
I would have the think its the alternator. If a jump starts the car, maybe the alternator isnt charging the battery properly. If you can take it off, Auto Zone, and places like that will test for free. Also, start your car and put a volt meter on you battery. You should be makin 14ish volts (14.4). If its making less (like 12-13) id def say its the alternator. (make sure everything is off in your car when you take the volt reading. Heater,lights,stereo,headlights.... Everything)
