Look this up on youtube, there are great videos showing you how you can fix this yourself with a few cheap parts and a soldering gun from radio shack. There is an issue with corossion on the instrument cluster

Just changed my oil,can I reset the maintenance/engine light at home

Yes you can reset at home:

1. To reset MAINT reminder light after engine oil replacement, turn ignition switch to OFF position with odometer showing ODOMETER READING. Turn ignition switch to ON position while holding down trip meter RESET button.
2. Hold trip meter RESET button down for at least 5 seconds until odometer indicates "000000" and MAINT reminder light goes out.

88 mustang fuel only works for the top half of the guage?

The most likely problem is the fuel level sending unit in the fuel tank. It is a rheostat that is hooked up to a float in the tank. When the tank is kept at 1/2 tank or less than the rheostat stays at that spot and makes a open in the circut. When the circut is open or the resistance is low the guage goes towards full. When she fills it up the float rises to a spot on the rheostat that is not warn yet and works. The fix is to replace the fuel level sending unit in the tank or use the trip odometer to log how far she has gone on a full tank.

The odometer and RPM gauge on 03 SXT are stuck. They went 360 back

Try this, it works on other Chrysler products.

Insert key and turn to run position. put odometer on the trip position. turn key off.

While holding trip meter reset button in, turn key to run position ( dash lights will be on ) release trip meter reset button and watch the gauge cluster go through a test cycle.

After this cycle the gauges should return back to normal.

Hope this works for you.

I have a 2008 corolla. It has an auto light when the car needs an oil change. I need to know how to reset it.

Look in your owners manual and go to the part that explains the different symbols on your dash. Look for that service reminder and it should tell you what page to go to to learn more about that. Somewhere there should be some wording to the effect that "When you have your car serviced by a certified Toyota dealer they will reset it for you. In the event that someone other does your maintenance then this is the procedure to reset......."

Small red light next to odometer readout looks like a letter B

the B is for your trip meter not your odometer. the sx4 has 2 trip meters a and b that share the display with the odometer., yours is on trop meter b. press in the little black button next to the display to cycle through odometer, trip a, or trip b.

How do i reset the maintenance required light after an oil change on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma?

1. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position
with the odometer reading shown.
(For details, see “Odometer and two
trip meters” on page 145 in this Section.)
2. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position
while holding down the trip meter
reset knob.
Hold down the knob for at least 5
seconds. The odometer indicates “000000”
and the light goes off.
If the system fails to reset, the light will
continue flashing.

To reset the Maintenance Lamp turn the car key to ON (not start), set your odometer on mileage (not trip a or b), then depress and hold the button that switches from odo and trip then turn key off. Turn the key back to ON, while you are holding the button down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. Reset is complete and you are done.

These are available in your owners manual for the vehicle.

My center console lights do not work, but the radio and everything else does. 2003 honda model. I just can not see the controls.

FROM ANOTHER POST:

the fuse is the #2 fuse in the underhood fuse box. that fusebox is on the passenger side of the engine compartment and it has a black cover on it that is approximately 6" x 3"

the fuse box lid should have a list under the cover of what fuses are what. the #2 fuse is a 15 amp fuse.

if the console lights work then the problem isn't the fuse.

check the rheostat that is used to dim the dash lights. that is the same button you use to reset the trip odometer at the base of the speedometer. that knob actually turns to brighten or dim the dash lights. it may have gotten turned inadvertantly

if the console lights work and turning the rheostat makes no difference then the rheostat switch in the dash is probably bad

hope that helps

2005 Toyota Corolla

This light comes on to rermind you to service the car ( oil, filters ect ) you can turn this off when you start the car by making sure the odometer is showing ( not the trip meters A or B ) and hold in the reset button for the trip meters and turning the ignition switch all the way forward. When this is done the odometer will start to show dashes and when the dashes are gone the light will be reset.
