If the engine is not running turn the screw all the way in and then turn it out 2 and half times
Start the engine and turn it in until the revs start to drop.
turn the screw out (keeping a count of the number of turns ) until the revs again drop
Turn the screw in half the number of turns that you screwed it out until the revs started to drop and that will be very close to set. If the idle screw is set so that the engine is idling too low or too high then adjust it in conjunction with the mixture screw anti you get it right
I Keith,I have a 85 nissan 720 4x4 king,I have over 316,000 on it,I put 208,000 on it.How many miles do you have on it,our 720's have carburators that go out and are replaced by webers unless your in California,got one on mine,runs great.Maybe one of your coils is bad.I fought my carb.till Nissan dealer said they are problemsome and they can't be rebuilt by them.
