I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder and the blower/fan has stopped working. It worked then in the end only worked on 3&4 then worked once in a while and now it doesn't. any help is appreciated...i have read this is common with Nissans' and it could be the "fan amp control" or the "blower mottor resistor". just need advice before i go spend money on a part...thanx

First you have to tell us whether you have automatic temp control or a manual system. They use different blower motor controls.

Before spending any money why not check out the motor brushes. If worn fan will not operate at any speed.

Look up arm of brake pedal for a switch that gets depressed when pedal is pushed. Probably near top.

SOURCE: I was told I need

TPS Sensors issues, are common on all vehicles.
Yes, you could misdiagnose anything, on todays high tech vehicles,if you don't know the components, how they work and how they function in a system. If the sensor wasn't tested at all,you need a new mechanic. Even the pros throw parts at it.
If the TPS needs replacing, you can do it yourself. Go to the auto parts store and buy it. Look it up on NAPA site or others. About $75.00. Too easy, to pay someone to do.
A scanner code doesn't mean replace something. That was were you were going with your question. Always test, then replace. Test, not scan
Do this. Go to a shop, stand next to your vehicle, and have somone test it in front of you,not scan the system, actually test the TPS. Back probe it and put a Meter or Oscilloscope on it.

My 99 nissan frontier blower speeds work on 1,2,3 but, not on 4 . Any solutions?

usually its the heater fan resistor that is bad. it controls the fan speeds for blower motor. The blower motor is mounted under the glove box. It is in the corner somewhat covered by the kick panel. The card, at least on my pathfinder, is held in with 2 phillips head screws. The plug has 4 wires, one large wire and 3 smaller wires. You should see it very near to and parallel with the firewall.

The card has an on board fuse that is not replaceable. It is located on the passenger side fire wall to the left of the blower moter under the glove box. Held in with two silver phillps screws

Fan works on Full Setting ONLY. 98 pathfinder

there is a ballast resistor that should be next to the blower motor that controls the low speeds on the blower. change it and you should be all set.

Heater blower/fan not working

The problem is that they have a resistor in between the wiring and the blower motor. it is usually located under the dash near the blower housing. It is a small square type gadget. It is a little hard to get at. But it can be done. If it's not under the dash it is in the wiring on the under the hood. But mostly it's on the cab under the dash.Just replace it.Good luck.
