2002 Dodge Neon Starter

Possibly a failed transmission, low transmission fluid... Could also be the anti theft system disabling the trans. A dealer ca reprogram the car/key fob/security sensing ring (around the ignition key barrel) to work again if they have been damaged and replaced.

some thing is wrong, it sounds like they may have left a vacuum line loose or forgot to hook one up, i have done a few of these and the starter is under the intake and things have to be removed, maybe a gasket is no good from removing throtlebody, but something is wrong, also how was the car running before the starter went bad? was the car sitting for four months and then the starter was done or were you driving it often and the starter went bad? a bad o2 sensor would not cause this problem and if its that weak the engine light should of come on, something is not right i would take it to another shop and let them check it and if its due to the starter job then give the bill to them. good luck.

ok......one question is you say when you start to drive, so I assume that at idle, standstill, there is no abnormal noises...even when you rev the engine.......its only when you drive and accelerate ?????

Usually means the starter has open windings or a short. Remove the starter and take to parts store for testing. Please let me know if you have more questions.

   Starter and torque bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) Starter electrical connectors Intake manifold inlet hose on high output engines Negative battery cable

I doubt the boost would have effected the starter at all,but the battery may have seen it` last days,but,also,I would be more concerned about checking the alternator,and make sure it is charging correctly with the new battery.Checked at the battery,with headlights on,and ac on high blower setting,it should read 13.65 volts,to 14.255 volts,anything less is not good.

check for vacume leaks listen for a hissing sound if you here one but cant pin point it you can use a spray bottle of gas of can of ether both very flamable so be gentle and spray around the sound when the engine revs up theres your leak thats where i would start

You probably have a bad or failing battery. Will it jump start and continue to run OK?

the alternator is probably shot you would have to get it replaced

sounds like some kind of vacuum leak or a bad IAC motor
