The hazzard switch is the most likely culprit since it directs current to either the turn signal switch or directly to the turn signal lights depending on its position. Over time the contacts wear out in the flasher switch. When you push it in and out you are allowing good contact to return to the normally off function that routes power to the turn signal switch.
The flasher switch can be found at any good parts store.
The signal flasher will be a tube about 1 inch long usually round and cylindrical it will have either 2 or three pins on it. There will be two of them and they will both be located jsut about the fuse box. swap them onis is the four way flasher one is the signal flasher. if this fixes the problem replace the bad flasher module

The 2 fuses are no 10 (7.5amp) and no 21(15amp) in the interior fuse panel. The flasher is located on the base of steering column under dash. See this this pic find connector c214 on bottom 3rd from right. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh43/chuck943/EXN15113.gif
it is inside, under dash, on left side is a plastic sound protector, mine had 3 screws holding it up, drop this down and straight in you will see a 1" round thing - this is the flasher, pull it out and replace with new one (there are two flat prongs that plug in). It appears this is a well guarded secret!
