Hatch door wont open - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Must replace both hatch struts..."Mighty Arm" on line great...snap on snap off...also available at most parts store for a few dollars more...

if it clicks when pushing button the lock is disengaging try providing a little pressure on door and have someone push the button it will probably spring open. the struts might not have enough power to pop it open

may have a bad switch

There is a manual release on the inside of the hatch door.
Somewhere in the center of the door under an oval cover plate you can open it with a screwdriver.

Sometimes there is a safety sensor that does not allow it to open if the vehicle is in gear. This sensor may be faulty but most likely not the problem. Remove the inner panel on the back hatch and inspect the linkages from the outside handles to the releases inside the door for the glass and hatch. These have most likely came loose from the latches they operate

I have a problem the back door will not open with key remote or just by the touch pad. That I know of is there a release button or something to open the back hatch.

door lock actuator solenoid ( inside of door) needs to be replaced

Its more than likely the door lock actuator and if so your going to have to take the inside door panel off to get to it. It is possible to do it, its just a pain

Use a t-47 torx bit and adjust the latching pin in or out to line up the hatch, simple as that!!!
