Does anyone have a link for a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Xj wiring diagram? My entire center console, including shifter indicator lights have gone out. I know I have a short somewhere but, can't seem to locate it. It all started when i was chinging the bulb in the 4X4 indicator.

As I said in your last question, there are very few reasons you need to go near it. A good auto electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer can diagnose the ECM for faults in about 20 to 30 minutes. It is not a job for 'let's try changing this'. If it is bad, a new one needs a tech to install as it has to be programmed with the VIN Number and mileage and set up.

Like answer #1, when I bought my 1993 Jeep Cherokee, one of the first things I ended up doing was go to & join the
cherokeeforum.com, i.e. cherokee-forum-dot-com....
I've found that whenever I need advise, or answers to any questions with my vehicles, I look for the forum for that vehicle. 99.9% of the time the folks in the forums give you honest answers..... I even subscribe to a few YouTube Channels, like the one for my 93 Cherokee. That guy is not only smart when it comes to 1990s-2000s Jeep Cherokee's/XJs, he's always doing some sort of repair or modification to one of his Cherokee's or Grand Cherokee's..... Reverse lamp switch wiring or switch itself is defective. Mounted on trans. Run slector lever over reverse with someone watching. the back.If yhey flicker the switch is bad. Work it several times sometimes helps .
If this is Grand Cherokee, review ths Repair Manual ZJ-Secc-8W-Wiring-Diagrams (page 7, 9 and 10 for location, details and description). The diagramas can find it in the next pages.

Aboutthe headlights fuses, the light system have several fuses located inthe Power Distribution Center and Fuse Block, for more details, Isuggest review the Section-8WL-Wiring-Diagrams (page 149 and next). In the page 140, you can find the Diagrams Index and the Components and location about this.
Number 11 is a 25 amp (natural) Headlamp delay module and also controls the horn. Number 15 is a 15 amp (Lt. Blue) this controls the instrument panel lamps, headlamp switch, parking lamps and radio/clock memory. number 17 is a 7.5 Amp (Violet) controls instrument cluster gauges, headlamp delay module, chime module, overhead console. I hope this helps because there are several different configurations for the jeep. So if this doesn't make sense then let me know and I will send you a different one.
