Look in the engine compartment over the left front wheel on top on the fender well. There will be three relays there attached to a small bracket. One of the relays is going to be the fuel pump relay another will be an ignition relay and the last will be the horn relay. You can check the relays with a volt/ohm meter or you can roll one of the other known good relays in to place of the suspected bad one. These relays are about $16.00 each from your local Ford dealer. Sound s as though the fuel pump relay is fried. They have small contact points inside them and after time they burn or get stuck.

SOURCE: fuel pump relay

If this happens every time you start your truck and it shuts off the same each time, you just might have a dirty fuel filter only allowing so much gas pass through until it clogs once again. I once had a chevy van, when I would drive it, would go a few miles and engine would shut down.   I would wait 10 or 15 minutes, it would start up and allow me to drive a few more miles then shut down again.  I changed the fuel filter, It was fine after that.

What relay is to the fuel pump

The fuel pump relay is a small unit covered in a plastic case, which has several sprockets on one side that are clipped onto the ignition system. The fuel pump relay is what turns on the fuel pump when you start your car and powers it down when you shut off the ignition.

The engine control module (ECM) uses the fuel pump relay to control when the fuel pump is on. The fuel pump relay supplies electricity to power up and power down the fuel pump.

It's located in different places on different cars. It could be under the hood, on the firewall, on one of the fender covers or near the steering column, to name a few locations. As for a Nissan Terra (Nissan Terra ?????), it is often found in the fuse box located in the engine bay.

When you turn the key in the ignition forward to crank the car, the "start cycle" begins and fuel pump relay is engaged long enough to turn on the fuel pump. It shuts off again when the engine is running. Once the engine is running, the fuel pump relay shuts off, and the current for the fuel pump is supplied by the oil pressure sending unit. The other time the fuel pump relay is engaged is when you shut off the ignition. It engages long enough to shut off your fuel pump.

I have a 93 Ford F150 4.9 liter. And when I go to start it the fuel pump stays running for close to four minutes and then it will not start until the fuel pump shuts off?

OK, when you turn the key to on, it will start the pump for about 2 seconds-this is just to put pressure in the lines and in the fuel rail for easy starting. If key is not turned to start, pump will shut off after 2 seconds. But when cranking in start, and when engine is running, the pump is on full time.
If your pump runs longer than 2 seconds with key only in on position, you have a fuel circuit problem. It very well could be a bad fuel pump relay staying on. Or it could be a computer problem signaling the relay to stay on longer. Try a new fuel pump relay first and see if that was the problem.

1995 trans sport van new fuel pump, won't start

If the pump continued to run after shutting off the car you fuel pump relay was probably staying latched. I would replace the relay as well based on your info. Along with the pump the fuel filter should be replaced too and fuel pressure should be checked. Make sure your ground is good also.

I check all relay and don't receive direct electricity to the fuel pump and no start the car

You will never have direct electricity to fuel pump only when running then once you shut off ignition that shuts engine off fuel pump to automatically shuts off.I would change the fuel pump sit in car turn key Th start position do not crank engine if you do not hear a grrr,,,grunt sound i would say fuel pump not functioning therefore fuel pump malfunction replace.

Answer FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump
shut-off switch may have been activated. The "Fuel Reset" indicator light
will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device
intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been
involved in a substantial jolt.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by
pushing in the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and
return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.
Roadside emergencies
The fuel pump shut-off switch is
located in the passenger's foot well,
behind the kick panel.

if that dosent work try replaceing fuel filter

My 95 tahoe starts but dont stay on. Fuel wont stay pumping from tbi. Just swapped a motor from 80's camaro. Was running real good in box chevy perfect. Now fuel wont stay flowing out of injectors. Already...

did you install the oil pressure switch origional to the tahoe? The tahoe uses a low oil pressure shutdown, instead of an inertia switch to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. If the pressure circuit does not close within 3 seconds after the engine starts the fuel pump shuts off. This is in case the truck is on its side or upside down the pump will shut off.

Fuel pump not staying on 1993 k1500 350

Some GM products also incorporate the oil sender switch into that circuit for fuel pump, so that in case of an accident, engine shuts off, oil pressure drops, in turn, shuts off power to fuel pump. May be worth a look at what your getting for oil pressure, as well as checking switch/sender.
