Possible intake hose leak allowing false air into engine leaning out the fuel.

Also loose or poor electrical connection to engine loom.

See if you can duplicate it by running engine in gear with foot brake fully applied and bring rev's up slightly. If it does it on this test, look for as itemed above.

With engine idling....gently wriggle engine wire loom and hoses.

SOURCE: When I take off from a dead stop the vehicle jerks

i think this is impossible to tell you without being able to drive the car.things are more complicated then we would like. the fact that taking off slowly also causes this jerking seems to eliminate an enginge missfire which would be the first thing that would probably cause jerking. does it feel like the rear prakes are sticking on thi can be a problem with the parking brake cables rusted inside ther casing.four wheel drive problems could be a u jouint or drive shaft issue. have a mechanic at least drive it to get som feel for where the problem is.

sounds like your ignition timing is REALLY REALLY late, should be 10 degrees BTDC. also check the air filter as this could cause poor acceleration. those 5M-GE/7M-GE engines also want premium gas (91 pump octane or better) they run horribly on lower grade gasolines.

2005 Nissan Altima jerks while driving, stops jerking when in neutral.

That usually happens if you're in too high a gear. If it also seems to accelerate slowly, you may have a fouled plug or other cause of a dead cylinder.

All the above problems were happening to my truck, and the engine light never did come on. Finally changed the O2 sensor, and it runs like new again.

When I take off from a dead stop the vehicle jerks 3 times consistantly. I've tried manually shifting, accelerating slowly, accelerating quickly and it still jerks 3 times nearly every time
