I have an 08 gmc sierra with tha 4.3l/262 v6. an its running bad all of my firing stuffs fine ive changed all that but it sounds like its starving for fuel any ideas

I have a 02 GMC with a 4.3 liter vortec v6 and its running very ruff. The plug in the #2cyl is black and smells like gas. I replaced it with a new one, cap and roter look fine, did a compresion test and it...
mabee a bad plug wire but if its a dry looking soot black then a leaking fuel injector or the control wire to that injector is shorting to ground.

I would check to see if the injectors are firing. Most injectors are a pulsing ground type. So you can use a test light to check them.

1997 gmc sierra shuts off while driving
Had same problem with a Yukon. Turned out to be a bad fuel pump (Won't show codes.) When cold ran fine, heated up, no pressure. Would start after sitting for about 1/2 hour. When engine dies on you check for fuel pressure under the hood.
