Ive got an '07 Silverado whose driver side heated seats seem to turn on and off at random intervals. Sometimes full heat, sometimes partial. Sometimes for long periods, sometimes only for seconds? There does not seem to be any pattern to it all. Anyone have any ideas? Switchboard? Relay? Short? Im all out of ideas.

I cant give you a precise location, but it will be underneath the seat, probably to one side. It should have a connector that can be disconnected.

There are seperate blowers for the front and rear air. It is most likely either your blower motor or the resistor, both located under the passenger side dash. I got a blower from a salvage yard for $25, But ended up having to get the resister from the dealership for about $130. Hope this helps.

A bad electric connector is possible. A bad tank sending unit can cause the same symptom. Usually the sending unit is a reostat mounted inside the tank.. it changes resistance depending on the float position, the resistance change causes a different voltage to the gauge or signal processor. The reostat may be a resistive plastic strip, as the float moves a contact pointer wipes the length of strip thus the change in resistance and voltage. Clear as mud?

There is a service bulletin for this concern from GM.What you will have to do is go to the dealership and they will reprogram the drivers seat module.It should only take a 1/2 hour.The bulletin number is 05-08-50-008.Hope this helps.Good luck.
