if you are getting fire to the plugs then it should be a fuel problem

My dad has a 1988 bronco II and took to walmart and had battery put in backwards. He replaced the computer on the truck and still won't engage fuel pumps to start engine

Did you test the fuel pump for power to the fuel pump? If the pump is receiving the correct voltage, then the problem most likely is that the knuckleheads at Walmart fried your fuel pump also.

replace the oil sending switch on the motor. upon starting the engine this switch has a 3rd wire connected to the fuel pump

Died wont start turns over and trys to fire but acts like its not getting fuel?

Yep you better check for fuel. add some to the air intake and see if it starts and dies. if it does the fuel pump might not be running as the ECC relay turns the system on and also the fuel pump relay then the incheria switch may may open and theres no power to the fuel pump

Lost power to engine

Check make sure all plugs are firing. Sounds like what my 93 Rodeo was doing-Idled okay but very rough when in gear. Turns out only 5 out of 6 plugs were firing due to a defective ignition module- 100 bucks later it works fine.

Hope this helps.

I just had the same problem, today, check the tan- lt green wire on the fuel relay that is located on the right fender, mine wasn't pushed in all the way, this wire shut down spark and fuel

1988 trooper the radio was replaced now the fuse blows

Start by disconnecting the radio power wire, it may have been connected to your dashlite circuit. Now with a test lite tool check the available wires for the heavier wire, Using the test lite, this should have power when the ignition is on. reconnect your radio power wire to this one and your problem is solved.
