The Mercedes-Benz C-Class line of compact vehicles
provides the German brand with a price point model for showrooms. The
C-Class enjoys the trickle down effect of the innovations launched in
more expensive Mercedes models such as the E-Class and the S-Class. The
W204-bodied C300 was introduced for the 2008 model year and remains in
production with the same specifications as of the 2011 model year.
Drivetrain

The Mercedes-Benz C300 is powered by a naturally aspirated, V6 engine
with 3.0 liters of displacement. This motor has a 24-valve double
overhead cam (DOHC) design with a 3.46-inch bore, a 3.23-inch stroke
and a compression ratio of 11.3:1. Output for this engine is rated at
228 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 221 pound-feet of torque at 2,700 rpm.
Mercedes offers this compact luxury sedan with a choice of a six-speed
manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The C300 sits on a 108.7-inch wheelbase with an overall body length of
182.3 inches and width of 69.7 inches. The C300 Sport model has an
overall height of 56.3 inches with a 60.4-inch front track and a
59.6-inch rear track, while the C300 Luxury model is 56.9 inches high
with a 60.7-inch front track and a 60.8-inch rear track. Both trim
levels of the Mercedes-Benz C300 offer 35.6-foot turning diameters.

space with a trunk that offers 12.4 cubic feet of luggage room.
Front-seat occupants are provided 37.1 inches of headroom, 41.7 inches

Rear-seat passengers are afforded 36.9 inches of headroom, 33.4 inches

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (HTSA) frontal
impact crash test resulted in four-star ratings (out of a possible five
stars) for driver and passenger protection. This vehicle
also earned a four-star rating in the NHTSA's rollover test, while the
administration's side impact crash test resulted in five-star ratings.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) frontal offset impact
crash test earned the C300 a "Good" overall rating, which is the
highest rating given by the IIHS.
