Xterra car quit running. had no spark @ distributor. replaced crank sensor and got spark. no gas pressure. replaced fuel pump, new one do not work. no power to it. checked fuses/relays, no luck. ran straight power (+ & -) to fuel pump. pump and car ran fine. is there a relay/fuse or something else to look for that will get power to the fuel pump?

Yes, there is fuel pump relay, which is generally located on the passenger side kick panel. But in your case, the fuel pump relay on 2002 model Xterra is indeed located under the dash around the steering wheel, but no you don't need to remove the cover just lay in floor and you can see it, it will slide off a bracket and you can remove and replace it.
Good Luck!

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0. Got fuel, got spark but won't start!

Question edited for clarity. Cranking IS turning over. You are cranking but not firing, or starting, or running.

If you haven't much pressure at the rail, your likely problem is not enough fuel pressure and the fuel pump needs replacing. One post here says you need 39 PSI and another says 49 PSI. What do you have? You need to test with a pressure gauge.

04 xterra. Cut off while driving. Will turnover, but won't crank.

I have had this problem twice on my 2004 Xterra. Distributors are known to fail. I would recommend checking distributor.

2002 Nissan Xterra 240,000 miles, cranks and runs but when shifted into gear dies.

check the fuel pressure and flow , if the pressure is low replace the pump, if the flow is low replace the fuel filter, the injectors may need some attention at that mileage.

I have a 95 grand Cherokee. I'm getting fuel, and I'm getting spark. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor, and it still wont start. I spray starting fluid in carb, it starts and dies. Please help

what does getting mean? which engine, 4Liter or 5.2 or what?
spark at all cylinders is getting and timed right?
runs on test fuel so sparks good, that means fuel is bad
or flooding or too little fuel.
code 12 cranking for 5 seconds, means sensors are ok.
why replace parts that make spark when sparks good, it run on test fuel, why worry spark.? and not just fueling.?

now lets do fuel, step one is fuel pressure, not squirt tests.or dribble test. a real tool called,a fuel pressure gauge that works, and nothing else, (unless rail is dry and now we know its not)

if all spark plug tips are dry, are they?
then its not injecting, (the ECU can cut injection for 2 reasons) ask
or there is no real pressure.
so we open the FSM and read page FUELING
49psi is idle pressure, (more cranking with so little vacuum)

the tests are all there,

1987 cheverolet camaro will not start. Replaced a but load of parts...good spark , computer is new and working , fuel pump is new and working , distributor new and working , throttle position sensor new...

I think I would be looking at the crank angle sensor and/or the cam sensors on this vehicle. It seems to me the engine isn't getting the signal to fire up.What happens when you squirt some fuel into the combustion chamber ? If it fires up I would be looking at cleaning the injectors. If it doesn't fire up What's the pressure on the fuel rail. does it have a buy pass pressure valve on the rail. Some suggestions good luck

1989 cutlas cera wont start its giving me code 12

Code 12 is a "good" code-it means system normal.
Since no codes are stored, check for spark and check for gas-is the fuel pump coming on? You should hear the pump buzz for a couple of seconds when you turn the key to on-it should start and pressurize the lines, then shut off until the engine is cranked-when cranking, pump should be running again. If you don't hear the pump, check if the fuel pump wire at the gas tank connector has power to it when the engine is cranking. If it does and the pump is not working, the pump will need replacing.
If no power, check the fuel pump fuse and relay, under the hood.
If the fuel pump is working, it may be ignition related-check for spark. You need to see a blue snapping spark to know the ignition system is good. If no spark, suspect the ignition control module or the crank position sensor -or the pickup coil, if no crank sensor. The pickup coil will be in the distributor-if you have one. If no distributor, crank position sensor is behind the crankshaft harmonic balancer.
If fuel pump and spark are good, you will need to diagnose the injector circuit.
Post back with what you find.

The engine turns over but the motor will not start. The van was running fine when it was cut off. It doesn't seem to be getting gas.

It's very likely your fuel pump has failed. Have somebody thump on the fuel tank while you're cranking the engine and see if it starts. If it does, replace the fuel pump. Otherwise get your fuel pressure checked, and check for spark. If no spark, check to make sure the distributor is turning(if applicable) If a 3.3 motor with no spark, suspect the crank sensor or cam sensor. Crank sensor is much easier to replace if experimenting.

the fuel pump fuse is fuse #1 15amp in the inside fuse box ( left side of dash behind fuse box cover ) the fuel pump relay is behind left side of dash ------- cavity #2 & #5 at the relay should have battery voltage in start and run cavity # 3 is the power out to fuel pump and cavity #1 is the ground that is turned on by the on board commputer.

93 honda del sol will turn over but wont start. It has a new time belt, distrib, and the main relay works.

Is it not getting spark or gas? It needs both to run. Both main source. If no spark in any cylinder, then ignition module or crank sensor is likely faulty. If no gas, then fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump or fuel pump relay is bad.
