Symbol of car & lock flashing on the instrument panel

Are there any lights lit steady or flashing on the instrument cluster , security , a lock an car symbol , key an car symbol ? Anti-theft systems will act just like this when there is a problem !

FUSE PANEL IDENTIFICATION (1983-90 LINCOLN TOWN CAR) The fuse panel is located in the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. To expose fuse panel, remove lower steering column finish panel.

Most likely the immobilizer. If the vehicle stalls after 2-3 seconds, check the instrument panel for a flashing key symbol once it stalls, or just put the key in the ignition and rotate to position 1, and again, look for the flashing symbol.
